Whether you’re a beginner or someone who has been playing bass or guitar for awhile, I can help you become a better musician. I’m a patient, professional bass and guitar instructor who has spent over 30 years developing my skills as both a player and teacher.
If you want to study with someone who will really listen to you and pinpoint the things you need to focus on, then I can help you. I will also ensure that you will have fun. I believe having fun playing and learning music is a huge component of the musical experience. But remember, progress requires practice and you will need to practice.
For Beginners:
Learn the basics of the electric/acoustic bass and guitar!
I can teach you how to:
find your way around the fretboard learn chords keep time improve your playing control and tone listen to and learn the songs you love
I don’t teach you to play a particular “style”. I help you get started so that you understand what you’re playing – and then you can apply your skills to whatever style suits you.
I teach both adults and children, people with no music experience whatsoever and people who’ve played other instruments. All that matters is that you want to play.
As you improve, and become a better musician, then we can really start to focus on some these topics in your lessons: – Technique – Musical vocabulary (scales, arpeggios etc) – Improving your groove – Creating excellent bass lines – Practical theory and harmony – Ear training – Note and chart reading – Repertoire – Improvising
Fees:
Cost is $20 per half hour lesson or $40 per one hour lesson.
